SE Ranking is one of the best SEO tools in terms of value for money that you can find today. Its features are on par with other widely recognized software solutions in the sector, such as Semrush or Ahrefs.
However, I believe that choosing your main work tool is a very personal decision, depending on your knowledge, resources, or the characteristics of your projects.
Have you tried SE Ranking and it doesn’t convince you? Are you looking for alternatives that better suit your needs?
Then I think this post will interest you.
I have compiled a list of SEO tools with features similar to those offered by SE Ranking. All of them are excellent options worth checking out.
Why look for an alternative to SE Ranking?
If you want to get straight to the point, below I summarize the main advantages of this comprehensive SEO tool, as well as its drawbacks.
You’ll see that there are certain things that may not appeal to everyone, and that’s why you might prefer to consider other solutions before investing money in it.
Advantages of SE Ranking
- Its pricing plans are quite affordable. They start at $59 per month.
- It offers very comprehensive SEO features to manage your projects: keyword tracking, backlink monitoring, website audits.
- It also allows for keyword research and competitor analysis.
- Includes tools to improve your content with AI.
- And a series of additional modules to work on local SEO or create reports as an SEO Agency.
Disadvantages of SE Ranking
- SE Ranking’s prices have increased as it has incorporated new features, so it is no longer as attractive.
- Although its basic plan is still quite affordable, if you want to use certain modules you need to subscribe to a higher plan or purchase them as additional add-ons.
- Its graphical interface, although visually pleasing and user-friendly, can be confusing, especially at first.
- Its keyword databases, traffic information, or backlinks might not be as precise as those of other tools.
7 alternatives to SE Ranking with their pros and cons
I’m sorry to say that, as of today, I don’t know of any free solution that is a real alternative to SE Ranking.
If we want to find a professional tool that can replace this software in our work as SEOs, we need to make sure it includes most of its features. Or at least the ones that are most important to us.
That’s why, in the list below, I have included only paid options. If I recommended a free option as a substitute for SE Ranking, I wouldn’t be being honest with you.
However, I have made sure to select tools from different price ranges. This way, you can get a broader view of the market and objectively assess whether what each one offers meets your functional and budgetary requirements.
1. DinoRANK
Most people who discover SE Ranking do so because they are looking for a cheaper alternative to Semrush or Ahrefs.
If this is your case, let me tell you that there is an SEO tool even more affordable than SE Ranking, with features that are just as good, and it offers direct technical support in Spanish.
I’m talking about DinoRANK, the tool I use daily in my work and I can confidently say it’s one of the SEO solutions with the best value for money on the market.
With DinoRANK, you can perform your most common SEO tasks, from keyword research to analyzing your competitors’ backlinks, to auditing your website, checking internal linking, or generating reports for your clients.
But if I had to highlight something about DinoRANK, it would be these three things.
First, its position tracker, one of the most comprehensive I know, with cannibalization detection, graphical evolution of each keyword, and analysis of your closest competitors.
Secondly, its visibility graph, which shows you the ranked keywords for any domain along with their estimated traffic, with a precision that competes directly with much more expensive software solutions.
And thirdly, the TF*IDF analysis, an essential tool for optimizing your content and improving its ranking.
Finally, don’t forget about DinoBRAIN, the artificial intelligence module of DinoRANK, which allows you to generate complete articles for your website perfectly optimized from an SEO perspective.
Pricing: The most basic plan costs €33 per month, and if you want more functionality, the next plan goes up to €55 per month, a price that is still lower than the cheapest subscription of SE Ranking.
Review of DinoRANK
What I like the most:
The accuracy of the position tracker and visibility graph, both modules are constantly being optimized by the development team.
What I like the least:
The competitor backlink data is not as comprehensive as that of other more expensive tools.
2. Semrush
When you analyze SE Ranking’s functionalities, you realize that most of them are inspired by one of the major SEO tools in the market. Of course, I’m talking about Semrush.
That’s why I consider Semrush a logical alternative to SE Ranking. As long as your budget allows it.
With Semrush, you’ll be able to measure, analyze, and manage practically any aspect related to your business’s digital marketing. SEO, content marketing, advertising, social media, market trends… Everything has its place within this powerful software.
It’s true that the learning curve is quite steep, which isn’t surprising given its extensive functionalities. However, once you get the hang of it, you probably won’t need any other tool to work on your web projects.
Pricing: Semrush plans start at $129.95 per month.
Review of Semrush
What I like the most:
It is arguably the most comprehensive tool for managing all aspects of your online marketing strategy.
What I like the least:
Several of its more advanced modules require an additional monthly cost.
3. Ahrefs
Ahrefs is another leading SEO tool for anyone involved in web positioning. It has all the key features of Semrush and, therefore, also of SE Ranking.
Now, if there’s one thing Ahrefs excels at, it’s its backlink database. I don’t think I’m wrong in saying that it’s probably the best SEO tool on the market for analyzing the external links your competitors receive.
Moreover, it offers a feature highly valued in the SEO world, especially for those focusing on niche website creation: Batch Analysis. This feature allows you to obtain a report of the main metrics for a set of websites simultaneously.
But all this comes at a price. Ahrefs is quite expensive, especially considering that even with a subscription, its use is not unlimited. At the beginning of each month, you are allocated a number of credits, which varies depending on the plan, and these credits are depleted as you use many of its features. And believe me, the credits run out faster than you realize.
For all these reasons, I think Ahrefs is a great tool but certainly not suitable for everyone.
Prices: The Lite plan costs €119 per month, but if you want to use the Batch Analysis feature, you need to upgrade to the next plan, which costs €229 monthly.
Ahrefs Review
What I Like:
Detailed information about the backlinks of any domain.
What I Dislike:
Their credit-based usage system.
4. SISTRIX
SISTRIX is an SEO tool that, although perhaps not as frequently mentioned as Semrush or Ahrefs, is highly recognized within the industry.
The most notable feature of SISTRIX is its visibility index, which has traditionally been one of the most reliable for measuring the relevance of a website in search engines.
Besides this index, SISTRIX has important features that will help you with your SEO, such as:
- Keyword research and tracking.
- Competitor analysis.
- Website audits.
- Content editor to improve your writing.
- Social media tracking.
However, it’s also worth mentioning that SISTRIX is not a cheap tool. Still, I encourage you to take a look and see if it meets your expectations.
Pricing: Starting at €99 per month.
Review of SISTRIX
What I like the most:
Its visibility index remains a benchmark in the SEO world.
What I like the least:
The basic plan is very limited if you work with multiple projects.
5. Mangools
Mangools is a highly-rated SEO tool among its users, as it offers a set of very useful features, a quite pleasant graphical interface, all at a really affordable price.
Mangools has 5 well-differentiated modules that allow you to work on different aspects of SEO:
- With KWFinder we can conduct our keyword research.
- Using SERPChecker we can get information on the top-ranked pages for our searches of interest.
- With SERPWatcher we can monitor our keywords.
- Through LinkMiner we can discover our competitors’ backlinks.
- With SiteProfiler we can analyze the main metrics of any domain.
Additionally, you can create a free account that will allow you to use it and draw your own conclusions.
Pricing: The cheapest plan costs €29/month, but it is very limited. If you use it a bit, you will need to at least subscribe to the Mangools Basic plan for €49 per month.
Review of Mangools
What I like the most:
It offers essential SEO functionalities with a very intuitive interface.
What I like the least:
The basic plans have certain limitations that may make the tool insufficient for some users.
6. Ubersuggest
Ubersuggest is a very comprehensive tool, created by Neil Patel, which gained a lot of popularity a few years ago because many of its functions could be used for free.
Currently, Ubersuggest is still a good SEO software but, since you have to pay for almost everything, it’s not as attractive as before. Even so, its prices are not exorbitant.
The functionalities this tool provides are:
- Keyword research.
- Keyword tracking.
- Website SEO audits.
- Content ideas.
- Competition and backlink analysis.
It’s worth noting that Ubersuggest allows you to subscribe to a lifetime license. In other words, you pay once for the tool and can use it whenever you want without having to pay again.
Pricing: €29 per month for a single domain and starting from €49 per month for multiple websites. It also offers Lifetime licenses.
Ubersuggest Review
What I Like:
The Lifetime plan is very appealing if you enjoy this software and plan to use it extensively.
What I Dislike:
The backlink database is not as extensive as that of other more powerful tools.
7. SEO PowerSuite
Earlier, I mentioned that there isn’t a free alternative to SE Ranking nowadays. Well, I need to clarify that statement a bit. There is a free solution you can use, but with a fundamental limitation. Let me explain. SEO PowerSuite is an SEO tool that, unlike the previous ones, you need to install on your computer to use it. This software consists of 4 modules:
- Rank Tracker: keyword monitoring and research.
- WebSite Auditor: On-page SEO audits.
- SEO SpyGlass: backlink analysis.
- LinkAssistant: link building.
SEO PowerSuite offers a free license (Free plan) designed for evaluation purposes, with more than generous limits: unlimited keywords, 500 URLs for crawling and audits, and analysis of up to 1,100 links.
However, this free option has one restriction that, in my opinion, is crucial: it doesn’t allow you to save your projects.
And that’s why I believe that the Free plan is not suitable for professional use. In any case, in its paid versions, SEO PowerSuite is a very comprehensive tool that will help you work on the SEO of your websites.
Pricing: Free plan without the ability to save projects. Paid plans starting at $299 per year.
SEO PowerSuite Review
What I Like:
The paid versions have no limits on domains, keywords, or backlinks.
What I Dislike:
You have to install the software on your PC.
Conclusions
We’ve reached the end of this list of SE Ranking alternatives, and as you might have noticed, there’s no perfect solution. Each has its pros and cons.
I’ve given you my opinion on each one. Now it’s your turn.
I encourage you to try out the different applications on this list, or at least those that offer a trial period or an initial low-cost subscription, and see which one best fits your way of working.
Will your next SEO tool be among them?
